RE-DESIGNED AGAIN...

** UPDATE for 4th March 2002 **
DPC Manager 2002 v2 is still being tested, so far everything is AOK. The scheduling feature is working good. I apologise for the delays but I want to get it right first time.

After discussion in the DirecPC newsgroup, DPC Remote 2002 v3 is being designed to accomodate a request for a download (and upload?) speedometer. This is the layout of what I have functioning right now:

DPC Remote 2002 v3 Experimental

The window above actually 'snaps apart' so you can have just the speedo onscreen or just the remote.

Some other suggestions (not yet coded) were:
* Sound events on connection and disconnection
* Pop-Up menu from the SysTray icon to control connection/disconnection
* Installer program makes an icon in 'StartUp' in the Start Menu for you
* The 'X' (close) button can function like Minimise to Tray (to prevent accidental closing) user customisable
* Satellite Signal Quality in numbers not just a LED
* Totals of how much data downloaded/uploaded per day

Send me an email if you have any other suggestions so they can be added into v3. Theres plenty of time as I plan on finishing v2 of the Manager first.

** UPDATE for 1st Feb 2002 **
DPC Manager 2002 v2 is still under develeopment. DPC Remote 2002 v2 will be released very soon.

Ever since the release of DPC Manager 2002 (and Remote) I have been unhappy with the on-screen layout of the programs. Also, it soon came to my attention that people using v4.0.1.28 DirecPC software were getting an incorrect status display causing DPC Manager to ignore commands. This was caused by differences with the DirecPC software status codes between versions.

In the DirecPC newsgroup I also received a request to add some sort of scheduling for automated connection and disconnection.

So, I started out re-designing the "look" of DPC Manager & Remote 2002, the results can be seen below!

The scheduling feature has been added to the DPC Manager and a launch browser button has been added to the DPC Remote. The WINDOW MODE button is gone... as well as the status list... it was just taking up space and everyone was using mini-window mode anyway(?)

DPC Manager now displays the number of connected clients and the last connection time in the same area.

DPC Remote also now displays two "times"... one for the last connection time and the other for the next disconnection time by your ISP... ie my dial-up ISP disconnects me every 4 hours so basically it displays the last connection time plus 4 hours! The MAXIMUM ISP CONNECTION TIME can be specified in settings or set to 0 if it doesn't apply to you.

Both DPC Manager and Remote now have a small network cable icon/picture which flashes green when communication occurs.

Any other ideas? The Manager is still in development right now. Click HERE to send me an Email.
